Handmade with raised rose designed petals, eight large motifs along the central design and seven similar smaller roses along the border, all worked on a hand netted background, 132cm long x 16cm deep. A rare late 17th century (1670-80) Flemish bobbin lace canopy possibly for a baby’s bercelonette (cradle), made for a wealthy European high ranking family, possibly royalty, worked in three sections, into a canopy shape, using fine hand spun linen thread, intricately worked into highly ornate designed lace panels, then joined together to create a canopy. 162cm long x 132cm wide.
