Edward Thomas (1878-1917), author, essayist, war poet. Family photographs and documents, to include a cased sepia photograph of Thomas in uniform, a handwritten letter of condolence from his commanding officer to Thomas` parents in which he describes Thomas` death as being "a great loss to literature," as well as various published works and uncorrected proofs, many inscribed. Also included in this collection are contemporary incidentals relating to Thomas and to his brother Reginald Townsend Thomas, who was also killed during the Great War. Postage and packing can be arranged by the Auctioneers and will be charged at cost of postage/delivery plus an minimum charge of £10 for the first Lot and £2 for each additional lot larger items may attract a higher fee Lot. Insurance can be arranged subject to the terms of the carriers. However all packing will be at the purchaser’s risk. Gorringes recommend Mailboxes and Alban Shipping for high value or delicate items.
