The HEIC`s ship Hooghly was part of the Bengal Marine and involved in actions in the latter part of the First China War (or First Opium War).
The East India Company`s steam-vessel `Pluto` had an armament of one 32-pounder, four 12-pounders, two 6-pounders with Officers and crew totalling 80 when she was seconded to the Naval Force of Commoder G.R. Lambert during the Second Anglo-Burmese War of 1852-3. The ship`s Commander Charles Burbank probably gained the IGS medal with Pegu clasp in the action and capture at the city of Bassein, Burma on the 19th May 1852. The Edinburgh Gazette of August 1852 quotes a letter from Commodore G.R. Lambert to the Governor-General of India dated July 21, 1852 stating ` In bringing Mr Burbank`s zeal and activity to my notice, Commander Tarleton recapitulates the services performed by the small steam force under his orders, assisted by three boats and 60 seamen and marines from HMS Fox, during the last ten days.
The `Fire Queen` iron steam yacht was launched 27th July 1844.

SHIPPING
We can offer a delivery service for Lots purchased by packing and shipping ourselves. If we cannot pack certain items we will recommend third party logistics companies that can help. Estimates for Shipping Costs for smaller items can be calculated pre-sale upon request and are based on value, size and your chosen UK destination. For items purchased the actual cost can be added to your account and paid online after the sale. If you purchase multiple Lots from the same auction, we will combine packaging/deliveries to reduce the Shipping Costs if this is possible. For lots for which Shipping Costs cannot be calculated, such as furniture, or larger items, upon request you can obtain a recommended Shipping Company either in advance of the sale or after you have purchased. Gorringes do not offer international shipping.
Estimates of Shipping Costs are based on the low estimate, whilst the actual cost is based on Hammer Price.
