A thirteen bottle red Bordeaux, Rhone, and Loire assortment including one Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste 1980, Pauillac; one Chateau Feytit-Clinet 1981, Pomerol; one Chateau La Tour Haut Brion 1982, Graves; one Chateau La Gaffeliere 1986, St Emilion Grand Cru; one Chateauneuf du Pape 1990, Mont-Redon; one Cornas 2006, Cave de Tain; one Saint-Joseph 2007, Cave de Saint-Desirat; one Gigondas 2008, Gabriel Meffre; four St Nicolas de Bourgueil 1993, Jacques Mabileau; and one Sancerre rouge 2006, Main. The most interesting item here is the La Tour Haut Brion `82. A great vintage in Bordeaux, this was also the last year the Woltner family owned and vinified Chateau La Mission Haut Brion and the smaller contiguous estate of La Tour. The Dillon family, who purchased Haut-Brion and La Mission in 1983, discontinued La Tour as a separate wine after 2005 since when the vines have usually contributed to the second wine of La Mission - a suprising move in some ways when it is considered that `There had been an even longer history behind La Tour Haut-Brion than there had been behind the Chateau of Haut-Brion itself` (Asa Briggs, `Haut-Brion`, Faber 1994, p170).
