One bottle believed of Cognac Fine Champagne, hand written label dated 1752, contemporary hand blown bottle, c. late C18th, approximately 1.5 bottle size, driven cork with remnants of pink wax capsule, level low to medium shoulder. This, and the following two lots, were discovered by the present owner in a nailed-shut cupboard beneath layers of wallpaper in a period property in the department of Vienne, France. Prior to the vendor`s purchase in 1999, the property had stood empty for 20 years, had suffered storm damage, and was in need of significant restoration. Unfortunately, nothing is known about the secret hoard itself

Postage and packing can be arranged by the Auctioneers and will be charged at cost of postage/delivery plus an minimum charge of £10 for the first Lot and £2 for each additional lot larger items may attract a higher fee Lot. Insurance can be arranged subject to the terms of the carriers. However all packing will be at the purchaser’s risk. Gorringes recommend Mailboxes and Alban Shipping for high value or delicate items.
